Ministry Outreach

"Whenever you did this for one of the least of these…You did it for me." Matthew 16:40

Outreach at Ascension is called to help those in need within our Parish family and our community, as well as those in need in other countries. We feed the hungry through our Manna Ministry each Sunday. We are in support of the Shepherd's Staff, New Life for Girls and Access Carroll. Our Ministry is solely supported through donations from our Parish family in the form of money, time and talent. We are called to share God's love with those in need and we encourage you to share in our ministry.

Dreambuilders' Habitat for Humanity - Members participate in projects locally as well as around the country. Dreambuilders, an interfaith mission group, received the Special Bishop's Award for Mission Initiative. Teens and Adults working together to raise the funds necessary for local travel and expenses, plus an additional $10,000 for each Habitat for Humanity house they build.

New Life for Girls

Shepherd's Staff - a multi-faceted ecumenical ministry helping the people of Carroll County, back to school supplies, clothing, winter coats, Prescription needs, annual Thanksgiving Dinner,

Food pantry and more.

Access Carroll - a non-profit organization providing medical support to Carroll County families who have no medical coverage or who are under-insured.

Manna Ministry - Soup Kitchen. Every Sunday Soup Kitchen volunteers provide and serve a hot meal beginning at 12:30 p.m. Food preparation is done by volunteer teams and takes place on Thursdays, Saturday or Sundays with meals served on Sundays. Birthdays are celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of every month with cakes for anyone having a birthday that month.

St James Guild Be doers of the word and not hearers only James 1:22

Mission Statement: To love and serve the Lord by compassionately providing service to our parish family in times of need and distress.

St. James Guild was formed in 1989 in order to provide support for parish families in time of need. Since then the Lord has provided us with many blessings and one of them is the opportunity to expand that support to include additional areas of need. Some of the support we give are funeral luncheons, transportation and meals, new Mom's support, and caring and sharing (Elder Care Support).

St James members have prepared and served meals for funeral luncheons, provided meals for church families during illnesses, provided regular rides to church for several families who otherwise would not be able to attend, and provided transportation for doctors' visits.
