- Rev. Ronald S. Fisher, Rector

The Rev. Ronald S. Fisher (Father Ron, as he is known among the children, or simply as Ron by many adults) has been at Ascension for over twenty years.  A native Marylander, he attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Virginia Theological Seminary.  Though starting out as a Methodist, he became Episcopalian and was ordained in 1983, beginning his service at St. Thomas’ Church, Garrison Forest in Owings Mills.  As part of his ministry at Ascension he is involved in the local community, serving on several agency and non-profit boards over the years.  He is also an active member of the local Ministerium.  He considers his greatest strengths to be preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.  His style of leadership is as a consensus builder.  His wife’s name is Rebecca (Becky) and he has two grown children and two grandchildren.  He enjoys swimming, sailing, downhill skiing, roller coasters and toy trains.

The Rev. Samuel W. Edleman began ministry in his native state of Georgia in 1960 before moving to Maryland in 1975.  After serving a number of congregations (from Garrett to St. Mary's Counties, and in between) he began retiring in 1999 and came to Ascension in December of that year to serve as assistant to the Rector in whatever ways are needed.  He resides at Carroll Lutheran Village (since 2005) where he teaches and plays bridge, works as a volunteer in the Marketing Division, reads a lot, and plays tennis when he can find a partner.  He is married to Meg and they have three children, eight grandchildren and one great-grand daughter.
